• Opioid Analgesic Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy: Baseline Self-Assessment

• Module 1 of 7: Initiating Opioid Therapy for Chronic Pain

  In this module you will learn about creating a Pain Treatment Plan that incorporates the principles of non-pharmacologic therapies and both non-opioid and opioid pharmacologic therapies.

• Module 2 of 7: Regulations and Guidelines for Prescribing Opioids

  In this module you will gain an understanding of the local, State, Federal, professional organization and medical specialty regulations and guidelines on treating pain and prescribing opioids.

• Module 3 of 7: Opioid Use Disorder and Addiction Medicine

  In this module you will learn how to monitor patients taking opioids to prevent Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). You will also learn how to intervene if you suspect OUD, as well as when and how to refer to a pain management or addiction specialist.

• Module 4 of 7: Managing Patients on Opioids for Acute Pain

  In this module you will learn when and how to properly prescribe opioids for acute pain, how to consult the PDMP when prescribing opioids, and how to counsel patients about naloxone.

• Module 5 of 7: Ongoing Management of Patients on Opioids for Chronic Pain

  In this module you will learn how to monitor patients on chronic opioid therapy, including how to review adverse events, monitor adherence to a treatment plan, educate patients about their opioid use, and change opioid medications or wean off of opioids when necessary.

• Module 6 of 7: Safe Use and Storage of Opioids

  In this module you will learn how to teach patients and their caregivers about safely using and storing opioid medications.

• Module 7 of 7: Managing Patients at Risk for Opioid Overdose - Use of Naloxone

  In this module you will learn how to prescribe naloxone and to teach patients about how and when to use naloxone to treat an opioid overdose.

• Group Discussion 1

  This Live Group Discussion will focus on the Baseline self-assessment and the content of the first few self-study modules. Group Members are encouraged to actively participate by discussing any challenges they are encountering and responding to other members' contributions.

  This Live Group Discussion will focus on any challenges that the group may have had with the later self-study modules and the Final self-assessment. New clinical practice challenges, such as COVID-19, will also be addressed.
